About the District Health Board

Board Committees

The DHB Board has established a number of committees.  The following three are required by legislation:

(There are two Manawhenua representatives on each statutory Board Committee.  There is at least one representative from the Pacific Health Advisory Committee on the Community & Public Health Advisory Committee (CPHAC) and the Disability Support Advisory Committee (DiSAC).)

In addition, the Board has established four other committees:

  • Community & Public Health Advisory Committee (CPHAC)

Provides advice to the CMDHB Board on the mix and range of services that will best meet local health improvement and independence objectives, recognising both resource constraints and the requirements of national policy and strategy, and taking into account the diverse and unique needs of Māori.

Meets monthly (except December) at 1pm to 4pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

  • Hospital Advisory Committee (HAC)

Provides advice to the CMDHB Board on the performance of provider arm services (i.e. hospital services).

Meets monthly (except December) at 9am to 12pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

  • Disability Support Advisory Committee (DiSAC)

Advises the Board on issues facing people with disabilities, and how these can best be addressed (in the context of the DHB not being the funder of disability support services for people aged under 65).

Meets monthly  (except in months where Regional DiSAC meetings are held) at 1pm to 4pm, usually on the 2nd Monday of the month.

Regional Disability Support Advisory Committee (DiSAC)

The Regional DiSAC forum (a 2002 initiative of the Metro Auckland DiSACs) are held quarterly, and convened and coordinated by the Northern DHB Support Agency (NDSA). DiSAC members from the four northern region DHBs attend. The forums promote a regionally consistent approach to the implementation of the NZ Disability Strategy through regular dialogue between the local DiSACs and linkages with the Disability Directorate of the Ministry of Health.

Meets quarterly (day and times to be confirmed).

Meets monthly (except January & December) at 1pm to 4pm, usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
