Manukau DHB is one of the largest providers and funders of primary,
secondary and tertiary healthcare in Australasia, serving the
people of South and East Auckland in an area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato. Known for being dynamic, progressive and at
the forefront of innovative health delivery, people choose to work
at CMDHB for many reasons.
For some it's the stimulation and challenge of working for the
biggest and busiest healthcare provider in New Zealand. For others
it's the opportunity to be part of projects that have not been tried
in other places but which are actually making a difference to the
quality of life of the diverse populations that reside in our
community. The people we seek to join this organisation welcome new
challenges, new ways of doing things and working together as part of
a committed team who really want to make a difference.
If you want to be somewhere that meets the challenge of working in a
multi-cultural community and workplace, then CMDHB is where you
should be!
We are known internationally for innovation in our approach to the
delivery of health care. We are also known internationally for our
work in orthopaedics, burns and spinal injury rehabilitation.
Other specialist services include neonatal intensive care, renal
dialysis, plastics, reconstructive and maxillofacial surgery
together with general surgery, medicine, acute care, paediatric,
emergency care and mental health. We are also known for investing in
and growing community and primary care services that integrate and
connect with secondary and tertiary care. We believe in taking a
holistic perspective to how we care for our community.
Our community is characterised by a diverse socio-economic and
cultural mix of people from over 150 ethnic groups, with a high
proportion of maaori (indigenous peoples who first populated this
land), Pacific Island (migrant populations from the Pacific region)
and those with Asian backgrounds. This offers a rich training ground
for all health professionals, providing a unique opportunity to
encounter a range of conditions and medical procedures that you will
not find elsewhere.
Employing around 5,909 staff we provide first-class services within
our various hospitals, outpatient clinics, day surgical and day
treatment facilities and community clinics. Working in partnership
with our community to improve health status is one of our major
goals. We have many programmes in place which are not only
innovative in the way health care is delivered, but are delivering
results that will make a difference to people's lives.
CMDHB is committed to providing professional and personal training
opportunities, cutting edge technology, competitive remuneration and
career opportunities. We have strong links with tertiary educational
providers such as the University of Auckland, and Middlemore Hospital
is known as a teaching hospital for medical, nursing and allied
health staff and we are always developing opportunities for exchange
in the wider Pacific region.
