Surgical Services - Audiology

Audiology provides a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitation services for both paediatric and adult patients. Predominantly the work is Otolaryngology focused however there is also a close working relationship with the Paediatric Department, and with Community and Education based services.

The scheduled services provided are:

1. Hearing tests for Otolaryngology
2. Paediatric and adult diagnostic Audiology
3. Hearing aid assessment and fitting

A Senior Audiologist has recently been employed in the department which is a very positive step forward. This post will aid further recruitment and expansion and also help facilitate linkages with Auckland University for student placements. Like Otolaryngology, the Audiology department is committed to fostering excellent teaching and training opportunities, particularly for undergraduate and newly qualified staff.
