encompass:
Mother and Baby Assessment Unit - an assessment unit staffed by Midwives and Doctors who carry out secondary Midwifery and Medical assessment of outpatients who either self refer or are referred by their Lead Maternity Carer. Induction of labour is initiated within this unit.
High Risk Unit - an 18 bed unit staffed by Midwives who provide care for inpatients with a variety of high risk conditions. High risk post natal patients are accommodated and cared for in this unit.
Post Natal Unit - Midwives and Nurses who focus on supporting breastfeeding and teaching mothercraft skills to postnatal women provide care in this 22 bed unit.
Delivery Suite - this unit is staffed by skilled Midwives who provide Primary, Secondary and Tertiary labour and delivery care, with the support of the Medical team. Lead Maternity Care Midwives and GP's utilise the unit to care for their clients.
Gynaecology -the gynaecology unit is staffed by an experienced and committed multidisciplinary team who provide care across the acute and elective care spectrum. Dependent on the care needed it is delivered either onsite at Middlemore in an acute gynaecology ward or at the Manukau Surgery Centre for elective and outpatient work.
