Primary Community Facilities

We offer three primary community Level O facilities within South Auckland. Botany Downs, Papakura and Pukekohe Maternity Units are situated within the communities they serve and are friendly midwifery lead units. Each facility offers water birth as an option.

The midwives work as the Lead Maternity Carer either in a shared care arrangement with GPs or for women who chose them as Lead Maternity Carer. Midwives on duty provide antenatal care, care during labour and birth and postnatal care, both inpatient and in the community.
