Surgical Services
Surgical Services provides expert multi-disciplinary in-patient care for
the citizens of the South Auckland region in a multitude of
specialities, including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology and
Audiology, plastics and hands, and general surgery (including a
world-class breast service) across two sites; Middlemore Hospital and
Manukau Surgery Centre. This is accentuated by our immaculate
out-patient facility at the same Manukau site, the Manukau SuperClinic™.
Here, both surgical and medical specialities reside in a specific Module
and carries out outpatient clinics on a Monday to Friday basis.
Our
team has a motivation on moving our service into the future, with the
development of a National Burns Unit on the Middlemore site and a
constant focus on making the service productive, efficient and patient
focused through multi-disciplinary improvement projects across all
services and a shared governance between all staffing disciplines and
specialties.
